Really impressed with Ixca and saddened that I've waited so long to try their food. Very modern feel and food that compliments that vibe. Before tip, lunch for two was under $20, which is really solid. And the choices aren't just everyday Mexican food. Great variety! Can't wait to go back.

New to the neighborhood, Ixca (Eeshka), is setting the trend for what an Authentic Mexican Restaurant should be like. Don't get me wrong. I'm all about naked burritos and chicken quesadillas, but there are chains for these. If you're looking for Authentic Mexican food, this is your place! They don't start you off with Chips & Salsa, but chicharrones! I had their avocado salad with steak, Sopa Azteca, their Taquitos Estilo Guerrero, Churros and Tres Leches. Yes. I 've been here a few times already! Just when I thought I couldn't be more impressed, I looked over to the bar and saw that they had the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale on draft!!! They only have their beer and wine license, but are hoping to work on a liquor one in the next few months. If you're not a beer fan they also have Apple Cider and Micheladas (even thought Micheladas have beer, it is an option). This was definitely the cherry on top. There's also a chalk wall for folks to enjoy (especially those with kiddos!) It opened in October of 2017 in the Irvington Neighborhood and they're still working out a few kinks, but overall, my experience has been great and I will definitely become a regular.
